Reading Materials
Reading Materials is a temporary reading space presented at the contemporary art fair Access Bangkok, held from 5–7 December 2024. WET designed the space to explore how books can be experienced through their materiality, knowing they would be displayed alongside artworks where material qualities are as valued as content. Books were curated under four approaches—Above, Below, Side, and Continent—offering readers different ways to engage with them. The curatorial choices also mirrored the design process, emphasizing decisions about form, materials, and content that invited readers to experience them firsthand. The show’s graphic materials were designed using only single sheets of paper—whether for flags, signs, or information sheets—allowing the format to be folded, stacked, hung, or slipped into books, maximizing both flexibility and interaction.
